Overview:
Liberated Films was the web's only true online high end outlet for video. A place for independent content creators to unite with their fans and a place for fans to view high end video that otherwise would receive little to no exposure. The fan could watch the videos, free of charge via liberatedfilms.com, and the content maker would receive constructive criticism not only from fans but from other content makers, via the forums and user profiles.  Essentially, Liberated Films is an online, video oriented community with features similar to other video sites.

The website held quarterly and annual contests for best film by category (drama, comedy, and action, suspense, documentary and experimental) and also the best overall film. The winners would receive recognition by getting their film in the "spotlight" section of the website on the home page. 

Liberated Films followed the syndication content model. All users that upload content to the site agreed that Liberated Films would syndicate the content to other websites for maximum exposure.  Feeds were created for content for other sites that want to build their video inventory. 

Liberated Films is essentially a web based medium used to “liberate” the content creator, the entertainment enthusiast, and major media outlets.

Over time Liberated grew into more of a general video sharing site, but always kept it's focus on higher quality content.  At it's peak it was among the top 10 video sharing sites in the world, based on monthly unique visitors.
