With Platform264’s years of experience, the team knows how important it is for you to be able to get under the hood to tweak things for your needs.  Because of this, Platform264 was built on open standards, utilizing the ZEND framework so you can host the site wherever you choose.  It is preferred to use the combination of a CDN like BitGravity with a cloud- hosting provider like Joyent, but you could just as easily use a shared hosting provider, or a cluster of dedicated servers. 
It’s your choice.

Platform264 has an open encoding standard, so it’s up to you how you encode.  From FFMPEG, to commercial encoding engines, you can feel confident that you’ll be able to plug it in and use it to get the videos just the way you want them. The H.264 codec is the future of encoding for the Internet, so that is what you will get out of the box. 
However if you need to use FLV for your back catalog of media or any other reason, there is full compatibility.
